Chance constrained problems: penalty reformulation and performance of sample approximation technique

Martin Branda (2012)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

We explore reformulation of nonlinear stochastic programs with several joint chance constraints by stochastic programs with suitably chosen penalty-type objectives. We show that the two problems are asymptotically equivalent. Simpler cases with one chance constraint and particular penalty functions were studied in [6,11]. The obtained problems with penalties and with a fixed set of feasible solutions are simpler to solve and analyze then the chance constrained programs. We discuss solving...

Specifics in Applying Agile Software Methodologies in Portal Solutions

Todorov, Nikolay, Eskenazi, Avram (2011)

Serdica Journal of Computing

Similarity:

Agile methodologies are becoming more popular in the software development process nowadays. The iterative development lifecycle, openness to frequent changes, tight cooperation with the client and among the software engineers are turning into more and more effective practices and respond to a higher extend to the current business needs. It is natural to raise the question which methodology is the most suitable for use when starting and managing a project. This depends on many factors—product...

Finite-time consensus problem for multiple non-holonomic mobile agents

Jiankui Wang, Zhihui Qiu, Guoshan Zhang (2012)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

In this paper, the problem of finite time consensus is discussed for multiple non-holonomic mobile agents. The objective is to design a distributed finite time control law such that the controlled multiple non-holonomic mobile agents can reach consensus within any given finite settling time. We propose a novel switching control strategy with the help of time-rescalling technique and graph theory. The numerical simulations are presented to show the effectiveness of the method. ...

Distributed output regulation for linear multi-agent systems with unknown leaders

Xinghu Wang, Haibo Ji, Chuanrui Wang (2013)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

In this paper, the distributed output regulation problem of linear multi-agent systems with parametric-uncertain leaders is considered. The existing distributed output regulation results with exactly known leader systems is not applicable. To solve the leader-following with unknown parameters in the leader dynamics, a distributed control law based on an adaptive internal model is proposed and the convergence can be proved.

Probabilistic properties of the continuous double auction

Martin Šmíd (2012)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

In this paper we formulate a general model of the continuous double auction. We (recursively) describe the distribution of the model. As a useful by-product, we give a (recursive) analytic description of the distribution of the process of the best quotes (bid and ask).
