We consider the hyperspace C L X of nonempty closed subsets of completely metrizable space X endowed with the Wijsman topologies τ W d . If X is separable and d , e are two metrics generating the topology of X , every countable set closed in C L X , τ W e has isolated points in C L X , τ W d . For d = e , this implies a theorem of Costantini on topological completeness of C L X , τ W d . We show that for nonseparable X the hyperspace C L X , τ W d may contain a closed copy of the rationals. This answers a question of Zsilinszky.

The object of this paper is the Hausdorff metric topology on partial maps with closed domains. This topological space is denoted by ( 𝒫 , H ρ ) . An equivalence of well-posedness of constrained continuous problems is proved. By using the completeness of the Hausdorff metric on the space of usco maps with moving domains, the complete metrizability of ( 𝒫 , H ρ ) is investigated.

In this paper, on the family (Y) of all open subsets of a space Y we define the so called quasi Scott topology, denoted by τ q S c . This topology defines in a standard way, on the set C(Y,Z) of all continuous maps of the space Y to a space Z, a topology t q I s called the quasi Isbell topology. The latter topology is always larger than or equal to the Isbell topology, and smaller than or equal to the strong Isbell topology. Results and problems concerning the topology t q I s are given.
