Quasi-multipliers of the algebra of approximable operators and its duals

Michael Grosser (1997)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

Let A be the Banach algebra K 0 ( X ) of approximable operators on an arbitrary Banach space X. For the spaces of all bilinear continuous quasi-multipliers of A resp. its dual A* resp. its bidual A**, concrete representations as spaces of operators are given.

[unknown]

E. Albrecht, W. Ricker (1998)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

The aim is to investigate certain spectral properties, such as decomposability, the spectral mapping property and the Lyubich-Matsaev property, for linear differential operators with constant coefficients ( and more general Fourier multiplier operators) acting in L p ( N ) . The criteria developed for such operators are quite general and p-dependent, i.e. they hold for a range of p in an interval about 2 (which is typically not (1,∞)). The main idea is to construct appropriate functional calculi:...

Positive operator bimeasures and a noncommutative generalization

Kari Ylinen (1996)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

For C*-algebras A and B and a Hilbert space H, a class of bilinear maps Φ: A× B → L(H), analogous to completely positive linear maps, is studied. A Stinespring type representation theorem is proved, and in case A and B are commutative, the class is shown to coincide with that of positive bilinear maps. As an application, the extendibility of a positive operator bimeasure to a positive operator measure is shown to be equivalent to various conditions involving positive scalar bimeasures,...

Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type

Y.-S. Han (1994)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

In [HS] the Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type were introduced. In this paper, the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type are generalized to the case where p 0 < p 1 q < , and a new atomic decomposition for these spaces is obtained. As a consequence, we give the Littlewood-Paley characterization of Hardy spaces on spaces of homogeneous type which were introduced by the maximal function characterization in [MS2].

Singular integrals with holomorphic kernels and Fourier multipliers on star-shaped closed Lipschitz curves

Tao Qian (1997)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

The paper presents a theory of Fourier transforms of bounded holomorphic functions defined in sectors. The theory is then used to study singular integral operators on star-shaped Lipschitz curves, which extends the result of Coifman-McIntosh-Meyer on the L 2 -boundedness of the Cauchy integral operator on Lipschitz curves. The operator theory has a counterpart in Fourier multiplier theory, as well as a counterpart in functional calculus of the differential operator 1/i d/dz on the curves. ...

Second order unbounded parabolic equations in separated form

Maciej Kocan, Andrzej Święch (1995)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

We prove existence and uniqueness of viscosity solutions of Cauchy problems for fully nonlinear unbounded second order Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman-Isaacs equations defined on the product of two infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces H'× H'', where H'' is separable. The equations have a special "separated" form in the sense that the terms involving second derivatives are everywhere defined, continuous and depend only on derivatives with respect to x'' ∈ H'', while the unbounded terms are of...
