For the complex interpolation method, Kouba proved an important interpolation formula for tensor products of Banach spaces. We give a partial extension of this formula in the injective case for the Gustavsson?Peetre method of interpolation within the setting of Banach function spaces.

We develop a new method of real interpolation for infinite families of Banach spaces that covers the methods of Lions-Peetre, Sparr for N spaces, Fernández for spaces and the recent method of Cobos-Peetre.

The position of intermediate spaces for a Banach couple is estimated with the help of its fundamental function and co-function. We study the completeness of the collection of all such functions, and the methods of calculating and estimating them for different couples. Finally, these functions are used to compare the position of spaces obtained under the action of some interpolation functors.

We study a problem of interpolating a linear operator which is bounded on some family of characteristic functions. A new example is given of a Banach couple of function spaces for which such interpolation is possible. This couple is of the form where B is an arbitrary Banach lattice of measurable functions on a σ-finite nonatomic measure space (Ω,Σ,μ). We also give an equivalent expression for the norm of a function ⨍ in the real interpolation space in terms of the characteristic...

We study those compatible couples of Banach spaces for which the complex method interpolation spaces are also described by the K-method of interpolation. As an application we present counter-examples to Cwikel's conjecture that all interpolation spaces of a Banach couple are described by the K-method whenever all complex interpolation spaces have this property.
