The classification of modular Lie superalgebras of type M

Lili Ma, Liangyun Chen (2015)

Open Mathematics

Similarity:

The natural filtration of the infinite-dimensional simple modular Lie superalgebra M over a field of characteristic p > 2 is proved to be invariant under automorphisms by discussing ad-nilpotent elements. Moreover, an intrinsic property is obtained and all the infinite-dimensional simple modular Lie superalgebras M are classified up to isomorphisms. As an application, a property of automorphisms of M is given.

Modular vector fields and Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras

Similarity:

We show that a modular class arises from the existence of two generating operators for a Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra. In particular, for every triangular Lie bialgebroid (A,P) such that its top exterior power is a trivial line bundle, there is a section of the vector bundle A whose d P -cohomology class is well-defined. We give simple proofs of its properties. The modular class of an orientable Poisson manifold is an example. We analyse the relationships between generating operators of the...

Modular equations for some η-products

(2013)

Acta Arithmetica

Similarity:

The classical modular equations involve bivariate polynomials that can be seen to be univariate in the modular invariant j with integer coefficients. Kiepert found modular equations relating some η-quotients and the Weber functions γ₂ and γ₃. In the present work, we extend this idea to double η-quotients and characterize all the parameters leading to this kind of equation. We give some properties of these equations, explain how to compute them and give numerical examples.

Special values of Hilbert modular functions.

Recently, Baily has established new foundation for complex multiplication in the context of Hilbert modular functions; see [1]-[4]. However, in his treatment there is a restriction on the class of CM-points treated. Namely, the order of complex multiplications associated to the point must be the maximal order in its quotient field. The purpose of this paper is two-fold: (1) to remove the restriction just mentioned; (2) to recover a result of Tate on the conjugates of CM-points by arbitrary...
