Design of a Participatory Decision Making Agent Architecture Based on Argumentation and Influence Function – Application to a Serious Game about Biodiversity Conservation

Alessandro Sordoni, Jean-Pierre Briot, Isabelle Alvarez, Eurico Vasconcelos, Marta de Azevedo Irving, Gustavo Melo (2010)

RAIRO - Operations Research

Similarity:

This paper addresses an ongoing experience in the design of an artificial agent taking decisions and combining them with the decisions taken by human agents. The context is a serious game research project, aimed at computer-based support for participatory management of protected areas (and more specifically national parks) in order to promote biodiversity conservation and social inclusion. Its objective is to help various stakeholders (, environmentalist, tourism operator) to collectively...

A model of decision with linguistic knowledge.

María Teresa Lamata Jiménez (1994)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

The aim of this paper is to develop a new aggregating method for the decision problem in which the possible values of rewards are known in linguistic terms. We show new operators for solving this problem, as well as the way in which OWA operators provide us with an adequate framework for representing the optimism degree of the decision maker in case we have no information about the real state.

Multi-attribute evaluation with imprecise vector utility

Sixto Ríos-Insua, Alfonso Mateos (1996)

Revista de la Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas Físicas y Naturales

Similarity:

We consider the multi-attribute decision making problem with incomplete information on the decision maker's preferences, given by an imprecise vector utility function. We introduce an approximation set to the utility efficient set which may be used to aid a decision maker in reaching a final compromise strategy. We provide sorne properties and an interactive procedure based on such approximation set.

Auctions with Untrustworthy Bidders

Braynov, Sviatoslav, Pavlov, Radoslav (2007)

Serdica Journal of Computing

Similarity:

The paper analyzes auctions which are not completely enforceable. In such auctions, economic agents may fail to carry out their obligations, and parties involved cannot rely on external enforcement or control mechanisms for backing up a transaction. We propose two mechanisms that make bidders directly or indirectly reveal their trustworthiness. The first mechanism is based on discriminating bidding schedules that separate trustworthy from untrustworthy bidders. The second mechanism...

Optimal risk sharing as a cooperative game

Łukasz Kuciński (2011)

Applicationes Mathematicae

Similarity:

The problem of choosing an optimal insurance policy for an individual has recently been better understood, particularly due to the papers by Gajek and Zagrodny. In this paper we study its multi-agent version: we assume that insureds cooperate with one another to maximize their utility function. They create coalitions by bringing their risks to the pool and purchasing a common insurance contract. The resulting outcome is divided according to a certain rule called strategy. We address...
