Invariance of relative inverse function orderings under compositions of distributions

Magdalena Frąszczak, Jarosław Bartoszewicz (2012)

Applicationes Mathematicae

Similarity:

Bartoszewicz and Benduch (2009) applied an idea of Lehmann and Rojo (1992) to a new setting and used the GTTT transform to define invariance properties and distances of some stochastic orders. In this paper Lehmann and Rojo's idea is applied to the class of models which is based on distributions which are compositions of distribution functions on [0,1] with underlying distributions. Some stochastic orders are invariant with respect to these models.

Characterizations of the distribution of the Demmel condition number of real Wishart matrices

M. Shakil, M. Ahsanullah (2016)

Special Matrices

Similarity:

The Demmel condition number is an indicator of the matrix condition, and its properties have recently found applications in many practical problems, such as in MIMO communication systems, in the analytical prediction of level-crossing and fade duration statistics of Rayleigh channels, and in spectrum sensing for cognitive radio systems, among others. As the characterizations of a probability distribution play an important role in probability and statistics, in this paper we study the...
