Continuous selection theorems

Michał Kisielewicz (2005)

Discussiones Mathematicae, Differential Inclusions, Control and Optimization

Similarity:

Continuous approximation selection theorems are given. Hence, in some special cases continuous versions of Fillipov's selection theorem follow.

Two theorems on the Scorza Dragoni property for multifunctions

Gabriele Bonanno (1989)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

Similarity:

We point out two theorems on the Scorza Dragoni property for multifunctions. As an application, in particular, we improve a Carathéodory selection theorem by A. Cellina [4], by removing a compactness assumption.

Improving feature selection process resistance to failures caused by curse-of-dimensionality effects

Kybernetika

Similarity:

The purpose of feature selection in machine learning is at least two-fold - saving measurement acquisition costs and reducing the negative effects of the curse of dimensionality with the aim to improve the accuracy of the models and the classification rate of classifiers with respect to previously unknown data. Yet it has been shown recently that the process of feature selection itself can be negatively affected by the very same curse of dimensionality - feature selection methods may...

On a simultaneous selection theorem

Takamitsu Yamauchi (2013)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

Valov proved a general version of Arvanitakis's simultaneous selection theorem which is a common generalization of both Michael's selection theorem and Dugundji's extension theorem. We show that Valov's theorem can be extended by applying an argument by means of Pettis integrals due to Repovš, Semenov and Shchepin.
