Regularity problem for extremal vectors.

In this paper, we will use results developed by Ansari and Enflo in the theory of bounded linear operators with dense range. We define two maps, with regards to some parameters, that control surjectivity default of a given operator, and prove analycity for the first one and global continuity for the other one. Minimisation results are also obtained in relation to this study.

Singular quadratic functionals of one dependent variable

Zuzana Došlá, Ondřej Došlý (1995)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

Similarity:

Singular quadratic functionals of one dependent variable with nonseparated boundary conditions are investigated. Necessary and sufficient conditions for nonnegativity of these functionals are derived using the concept of and . The paper also includes two comparison theorems for coupled points with respect to the various boundary conditions.

On extremal dependence of block vectors

Due to globalization and relaxed market regulation, we have assisted to an increasing of extremal dependence in international markets. As a consequence, several measures of tail dependence have been stated in literature in recent years, based on multivariate extreme-value theory. In this paper we present a tail dependence function and an extremal coefficient of dependence between two random vectors that extend existing ones. We shall see that in weakening the usual required dependence...
