On the conformal relation between twistors and Killing spinors

Friedrich, Thomas

Similarity:

[For the entire collection see Zbl 0699.00032.] The author considers the conformal relation between twistors and spinors on a Riemannian spin manifold of dimension n 3 . A first integral is constructed for a twistor spinor and various geometric properties of the spin manifold are deduced. The notions of a conformal deformation and a Killing spinor are considered and such a deformation of a twistor spinor into a Killing spinor and conditions for the equivalence of these quantities is indicated. ...

Surfaces in 𝕊 3 and 3 via spinors

We generalize the spinorial characterization of isometric immersions of surfaces in 3 given by T. Friedrich to surfaces in 𝕊 3 and 3 . The main argument is the interpretation of the energy-momentum tensor associated with a special spinor field as a second fundamental form. It turns out that such a characterization of isometric immersions in terms of a special section of the spinor bundle also holds in the case of hypersurfaces in the Euclidean 4 -space.

Spinor equations in Weyl geometry

Buchholz, Volker

Similarity:

This paper deals with Dirac, twistor and Killing equations on Weyl manifolds with C -spin structures. A conformal Schrödinger-Lichnerowicz formula is presented and used to derive integrability conditions for these equations. It is shown that the only non-closed Weyl manifolds of dimension greater than 3 that admit solutions of the real Killing equation are 4-dimensional and non-compact. Any Weyl manifold of dimension greater than 3, that admits a real Killing spinor has to be Einstein-Weyl. ...

A spectral estimate for the Dirac operator on Riemannian flows

We give a new upper bound for the smallest eigenvalues of the Dirac operator on a Riemannian flow carrying transversal Killing spinors. We derive an estimate on both Sasakian and 3-dimensional manifolds, and partially classify those satisfying the limiting case. Finally, we compare our estimate with a lower bound in terms of a natural tensor depending on the eigenspinor.
