A matrix derivation of a well-known representation theorem for (tr A) is given, which is the solution of a restricted maximization problem. The paper further gives a solution of the corresponding restricted minimization problem.

Formalization of a part of [11]. Unfortunately, not all is possible to be formalized. Namely, in the paper there is a mistake in the proof of Lemma 3. It states that there exists x ∈ M1 such that M1(x) > N1(x) and (∀y ∈ N1)x ⊀ y. It should be M1(x) ⩾ N1(x). Nevertheless we do not know whether x ∈ N1 or not and cannot prove the contradiction. In the article we referred to [8], [9] and [10].

We prove that-consistently-in the space ω* there are no P-sets with the ℂ-cc and any two fat P-sets with the ℂ⁺-cc are coabsolute.

We describe a new approach to the Weil representation attached to a symplectic group over a finite or a local field. We dissect the representation into small pieces, study how they work, and put them back together. This way, we obtain a reversed construction of that of T. Thomas, skipping most of the literature on which the latter is based.

The main aim is to estimate the noncentrality matrix of a noncentral Wishart distribution. The method used is Leung's but generalized to a matrix loss function. Parallelly Leung's scalar noncentral Wishart identity is generalized to become a matrix identity. The concept of Löwner partial ordering of symmetric matrices is used.

Properties of representation systems with respect to summation methods are studied. For a given representation system with respect to a given summation method we study, in particular, the question of the stability of that property after deleting finitely many elements. As a consequence we obtain the existence of null series for the systems with respect to a given method of summation.

Some properties of secantoptics of ovals defined by Skrzypiec in 2008 were proved by Mozgawa and Skrzypiec in 2009. In this paper we generalize to this case results obtained by Cieslak, Miernowski and Mozgawa in 1996 and derive an integral formula for an annulus bounded by a given oval and its secantoptic. We describe the change of the area bounded by a secantoptic and find the differential equation for this function. We finish with some examples illustrating the above results. ...
