Periodic Solutions of Scalar Differential Equations without Uniqueness

Stanisław Sȩdziwy (2009)

Bollettino dell'Unione Matematica Italiana

Similarity:

The note presents a simple proof of a result due to F. Obersnel and P. Omari on the existence of periodic solutions with an arbitrary period of the first order scalar differential equation, provided equation has an n-periodic solution with the minimal period n > 1.

Inverse limits on intervals using unimodal bonding maps having only periodic points whose periods are all the powers of two

W. Ingram, Robert Roe (1999)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

We derive several properties of unimodal maps having only periodic points whose period is a power of 2. We then consider inverse limits on intervals using a single strongly unimodal bonding map having periodic points whose only periods are all the powers of 2. One such mapping is the logistic map, f λ ( x ) = 4λx(1-x) on [f(λ),λ], at the Feigenbaum limit, λ ≈ 0.89249. It is known that this map produces an hereditarily decomposable inverse limit with only three topologically different subcontinua....

Dynamical systems with Newtonian type potentials

Marco Degiovanni, Fabio Giannoni, Antonio Marino (1987)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti Lincei. Matematica e Applicazioni

Similarity:

We study the existence of regular periodic solutions to some dynamical systems whose potential energy is negative, has only a singular point and goes to zero at iniìnity. We give sufficient conditions to the existence of periodic solutions of assigned period which do not meet the singularity.

On the C⁰-closing lemma

Anna A. Kwiecińska (1996)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

Similarity:

A proof of the C⁰-closing lemma for noninvertible discrete dynamical systems and its extension to the noncompact case are presented.

Colorings of Periodic Homeomorphisms

Yuji Akaike, Naotsugu Chinen, Kazuo Tomoyasu (2009)

Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Mathematics

Similarity:

We calculate the exact value of the color number of a periodic homeomorphism without fixed points on a finite connected graph.

Periodic and Almost Periodic Solutions of Integral Inclusions

Radosław Pietkun (2010)

Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Mathematics

Similarity:

The existence of a continuous periodic and almost periodic solutions of the nonlinear integral inclusion is established by means of the generalized Schauder fixed point theorem.
