Loss of Accuracy in Numerical Computations Загуба на точност в числените пресмятания

Konstantinov, Mihail, Petkov, Petko (2011)

Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians

Regularization of nonlinear ill-posed problems by exponential integrators

Marlis Hochbruck, Michael Hönig, Alexander Ostermann (2009)

ESAIM: Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis

Similarity:

The numerical solution of ill-posed problems requires suitable regularization techniques. One possible option is to consider time integration methods to solve the Showalter differential equation numerically. The stopping time of the numerical integrator corresponds to the regularization parameter. A number of well-known regularization methods such as the Landweber iteration or the Levenberg-Marquardt method can be interpreted as variants of the Euler method for solving the Showalter...

Improved flux reconstructions in one dimension

Vlasák, Miloslav, Lamač, Jan

Similarity:

We present an improvement to the direct flux reconstruction technique for equilibrated flux a posteriori error estimates for one-dimensional problems. The verification of the suggested reconstruction is provided by numerical experiments.

Energy norm error estimates and convergence analysis for a stabilized Maxwell's equations in conductive media

Eric Lindström, Larisa Beilina (2024)

Applications of Mathematics

Similarity:

The aim of this article is to investigate the well-posedness, stability of solutions to the time-dependent Maxwell's equations for electric field in conductive media in continuous and discrete settings, and study convergence analysis of the employed numerical scheme. The situation we consider would represent a physical problem where a subdomain is emerged in a homogeneous medium, characterized by constant dielectric permittivity and conductivity functions. It is well known that in these...

Certified reduced-basis solutions of viscous Burgers equation parametrized by initial and boundary values

ESAIM: Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis - Modélisation Mathématique et Analyse Numérique

Similarity:

We present a reduced basis offline/online procedure for viscous Burgers initial boundary value problem, enabling efficient approximate computation of the solutions of this equation for parametrized viscosity and initial and boundary value data. This procedure comes with a fast-evaluated rigorous error bound certifying the approximation procedure. Our numerical experiments show significant computational savings, as well as efficiency of the error bound.
