Existence and relaxation results for nonlinear second order evolution inclusions

Stanisław Migórski (1995)

Discussiones Mathematicae, Differential Inclusions, Control and Optimization

Similarity:

In this paper we study nonlinear evolution inclusions associated with second order equations defined on an evolution triple. We prove two existence theorems for the cases where the orientor field is convex valued and nonconvex valued, respectively. We show that when the orientor field is Lipschitzean, then the set of solutions of the nonconvex problem is dense in the set of solutions of the convexified problem.

Fixed points of multivalued contractions with nonclosed, nonconvex values

Salvatore A. Marano (1994)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti Lincei. Matematica e Applicazioni

Similarity:

For a class of multivalued contractions with nonclosed, nonconvex values, the set of all fixed points is proved to be nonempty and arcwise connected. Two applications are then developed. In particular, one of them is concerned with some properties of the set of all classical trajectories corresponding to continuous controls for a given nonlinear control system.

Fixed point theorems for set-valued Y-contractions

Ioan A. Rus, Adrian Petruşel, Gabriela Petruşel (2007)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

The purpose of this paper is to present several fixed point theorems for the so-called set-valued Y-contractions. Set-valued Y-contractions in ordered metric spaces, set-valued graphic contractions, set-valued contractions outside a bounded set and set-valued operators on a metric space with cyclic representations are considered.

Two theorems on the Scorza Dragoni property for multifunctions

Gabriele Bonanno (1989)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

Similarity:

We point out two theorems on the Scorza Dragoni property for multifunctions. As an application, in particular, we improve a Carathéodory selection theorem by A. Cellina [4], by removing a compactness assumption.
