Typesetting Japanese with pTeX

Timothy Eyre (2010)

Zpravodaj Československého sdružení uživatelů TeXu

Similarity:

pTeX is a TeX-like typesetting system that is specifically designed for typesetting Japanese and is widely used in Japan. This article describes how to acquire, set up and use a pTeX system in practice, with an emphasis on font management. It also provides basic background information on Japanese text processing and alternatives to pTeX.

TeX in a Nutshell

Petr Olšák (2021)

Zpravodaj Československého sdružení uživatelů TeXu

Similarity:

Nowadays, many users discover TeX through high-level formats that hide the complexity of typesetting behind a facade of a friendly markup language. However, all except the simplest of typesetting tasks require that the user can understand what happens under the hood and knows how they can influence the algorithms of TeX when needed. In this article, the author introduces the foundations of most high-level TeX formats, which will help the readers with their day-to-day work with TeX...

Mobile TeX: Porting TeX to the iPad

Arthur Reutenauer (2011)

Similarity:

The paper presents the achievement of Richard Koch, amongst others author of TeXShop and MacTeX developer, who has successfully compiled and used TeX on Apple's iPad.

Similarity:

In this paper, we present a summary of our work on the TeX Gyre fonts. We also discuss inconsistencies in the existing fonts and encodings and show how the problems are solved in the TeX Gyre fonts.

Typesetting of Tables and Lists and Other New Features in TeXonWeb

Jan Přichystal (2011)

Zpravodaj Československého sdružení uživatelů TeXu

Similarity:

This article describes new features in TeXonWeb. TeXonWeb is a web application that allows us to use TeX/LaTeX typesetting system without needing its installation on a local computer. One of the most important characteristics of this application is to help beginners to start working with TeX/LaTeX. It offers them a lot of tools such as table and list wizards to ease their first steps.

Wildfires identification: Semantic segmentation using support vector machine classifier

Pecha, Marek, Langford, Zachary, Horák, David, Tran Mills, Richard

Similarity:

This paper deals with wildfire identification in the Alaska regions as a semantic segmentation task using support vector machine classifiers. Instead of colour information represented by means of BGR channels, we proceed with a normalized reflectance over 152 days so that such time series is assigned to each pixel. We compare models associated with 𝓁 1 -loss and 𝓁 2 -loss functions and stopping criteria based on a projected gradient and duality gap in the presented benchmarks.

Linearization techniques for 𝕃 See PDF-control problems and dynamic programming principles in classical and 𝕃 See PDF-control problems

Dan Goreac, Oana-Silvia Serea (2012)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

Similarity:

The aim of the paper is to provide a linearization approach to the 𝕃 See PDF-control problems. We begin by proving a semigroup-type behaviour of the set of constraints appearing in the linearized formulation of (standard) control problems. As a byproduct we obtain a linear formulation of the dynamic programming principle. Then, we use the 𝕃 p See PDF approach and the associated linear formulations. This seems to be the most appropriate tool for treating 𝕃 See PDF problems in continuous and...
