Perona-Malik equation: properties of explicit finite volume scheme

Angela Handlovičová (2007)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

The Perona–Malik nonlinear parabolic problem, which is widely used in image processing, is investigated in this paper from the numerical point of view. An explicit finite volume numerical scheme for this problem is presented and consistency property is proved.

Computational technique for treating the nonlinear Black-Scholes equation with the effect of transaction costs

Hitoshi Imai, Naoyuki Ishimura, Hideo Sakaguchi (2007)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

We deal with numerical computation of the nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) of Black–Scholes type which incorporate the effect of transaction costs. Our proposed technique surmounts the difficulty of infinite domains and unbounded values of the solutions. Numerical implementation shows the validity of our scheme.

External properness

Moisés Bonilla, Michel Malabre, Jaime Pacheco (2008)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

In this paper, we revisit the structural concept of properness. We distinguish between the properness of the whole system, here called internal properness, and the properness of the “observable part” of the system. We give geometric characterizations for this last properness concept, namely external properness.
