Derivations on Jordan-Banach algebras

A. Villena (1996)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

We establish that all derivations on a semisimple Jordan-Banach algebra are automatically continuous. By showing that "almost all" primitive ideals in the algebra are invariant under a given derivation, the general case is reduced to that of primitive Jordan-Banach algebras.

Analytic properties of the spectrum in Banach Jordan Systems.

Gerald Hessenberger (1996)

Collectanea Mathematica

Similarity:

For Banach Jordan algebras and pairs the spectrum is proved to be related to the spectrum in a Banach algebra. Consequently, it is an analytic multifunction, upper semicontinuous with a dense G delta-set of points of continuity, and the scarcity theorem holds.

The Gleason-Kahane-Żelazko theorem and its generalizations

A. Sourour (1994)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

This expository article deals with results surrounding the following question: Which pairs of Banach algebras A and B have the property that every unital invertibility preserving linear map from A to B is a Jordan homomorphism?
