Spectral estimates of vibration frequencies of anisotropic beams

Luca Sabatini (2023)

Applications of Mathematics

Similarity:

The use of one theorem of spectral analysis proved by Bordoni on a model of linear anisotropic beam proposed by the author allows the determination of the variation range of vibration frequencies of a beam in two typical restraint conditions. The proposed method is very general and allows its use on a very wide set of problems of engineering practice and mathematical physics.

Analytical derivation of time spectral rigidity for thermodynamic traffic gas

Milan Krbálek (2010)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

We introduce an one-dimensional thermodynamical particle model which is efficient in predictions about a microscopical structure of animal/human groups. For such a model we present analytical calculations leading to formulae for time clearance distribution as well as for time spectral rigidity. Furthermore, the results obtained are reformulated in terms of vehicular traffic theory and consecutively compared to experimental traffic data.

The laser interferometer gravitational wave observatory project LIGO

James Blackburn (1997)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

The Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) will search for direct evidence of gravitational waves emitted by astrophysical sources in accord with Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity. State of the art laser interferometers located in Hanford, Washington and Livingston Parish, Louisiana will unambiguously measure the infinitesimal displacements of isolated test masses which convey the signature of these gravitational waves. The initial implementation of LIGO will...

Time series model identification by estimating information, memory and quantiles.

Emanuel Parzen (1983)

Similarity:

This paper applies techniques of Quantile Data Analysis to non-parametrically analyze time series functions such as the sample spectral density, sample correlations and sample partial correlations. The aim is to identify the memory type of an observed time series, and thus to identify parametric time domain models that fit an observed time series. Time series models are usually tested for adequacy by testing if their residuals are white noise. It is proposed that an additional criterion...
