Ricerche sul differenziamento genetico di Ascaris lumbricoides e Ascaris suum

Giuseppe NascettiClaudio GrappelliLuciano Bullini — 1979

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

The taxonomic status and the genetic differentiation of human ascaris (Ascaris lumbricoides) and pig ascaris (A. suum) was investigated by means of electrophoretic studies at the following enzyme loci: Sdh, Ldh, Mdh-1, Mdh-2, Mdh-3, Idh-1, 6-Pgdh, G-6-pdh, G-3-pdh, Got-1, Got-2, Adk, Pgm-1, Pgm-2, Est-1, Est-2, Acph, Aldo, Tpi, Mpi and Phi. The results obtained clearly show that A. lumbricoides and A. suum are genetically well-differentiated species, easily and surely identifiable by electrophoresis....

Differenziazione biochimica e variabilità genetica in due popolazioni simpatriche di Apodemus sylvaticus (L., 1758) e Apodemus flavicollis (Melchior, 1834) (Rodentia, Muridae)

Giuseppe NascettiLamberto TiziLuciano Bullini — 1979

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

The taxonomic status, the possible hybridization in nature and the genetic variability of Apodemus sylvaticus and A. flavicollis has been investigated using the electrophoretic analysis of 30 enzyme loci in field populations of both species, living sympatrically in the Tolfa hills (North-West of Rome). The results obtained show: 1) A. sylvaticus and A. flavicollis are reproductively isolated and genetically well-differentiated species, easily and surely identifiable by electrophoresis; 2) in the...

Phosphoglucomutase polymorphism in seven Lepidoptera species

Luciano BulliniRossella CianchiGiuseppe NascettiLuigi Renna — 1975

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

Ettore BioccaGiuseppe NascettiAlbertina IoriRenata CostantiniLuciano Bullini — 1978

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

The equine parasites which have so far been classified as belonging to the single species Parascaris equorum (Goeze) have been shown to belong to two distinct species on the basis of morphological and karyological characters, and of the electrophoretic study of 27 enzyme loci. The name Parascaris univalens is proposed for the species with distally truncated spicula and karyotype 2 n = 2. The name “univalens” was used by Hertwig in 1890 to indicate horse ascarids with this karyotype. A complete description...

Ricerche cariologiche ed elettroforetiche su Parascaris univalens e Parascaris equorum

Luciano BulliniGiuseppe NascettiStefania CarrèFina RumoreEttore Biocca — 1978

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

The karyotypes of the two sibling species Parascaris equorum and P. univalens are illustrated, as well as their chromosome morphology. The chromosomes are characterized by heteropycnotic extremities and the absence of a well-defined centromerical zone. Furthermore in P. equorum one chromosome pair appears distinctly longer than the other, which would exclude the evolution of this species by a simple process of tetraploidization; this is also ruled out by the electrophoretic data. The electrophoretic...

Suddivisione su base morfologica e genetica del genere Bulinus in tre generi: Bulinus Müller, Physopsis Krauss e Mandahlbarthia gen. nov.

Ettore BioccaLuciano BulliniAlain G. ChabaudGiuseppe NascettiPaola OrecchiaLia Paggi — 1979

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

The taxonomy of the genus Bulinus is re-examined on the basis of morphology and of electrophoretic study of 20 gene-enzyme systems. The genus is at present divided into two subgenera: Bulinus and Physopsis. According to Mandahl-Barth the first subgenus is made up of three groups of species (the tropicus, truncatus and forskalii groups), while the species of the second subgenus are united in a fourth group (africanus). We have studied various species and subspecies belonging to the two subgenera...
