On meromorphic equivalence of linear difference operators

Gertrude K. Immink (1990)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Similarity:

We consider linear difference equations whose coefficients are meromorphic at . We characterize the meromorphic equivalence classes of such equations by means of a system of meromorphic invariants. Using an approach inspired by the work of G. D. Birkhoff we show that this system is free.

Consequences of the meromorphic equivalence of standard matrix differential equations.

Similarity:

In this article we investigate the question [of] how meromorphic differential equations can be simplified by meromorphic equivalence. In the case of equations of block size 1, which generalizes the case of distinct eigenvalues, we identify a class of equations which are simplest possible in the sense that they carry the smallest number of parameters whithin their equivalence classes. We also discuss conditions under which individual equations can be simplified. Particular attention is...

On the Yang-Baxter-like matrix equation for rank-two matrices

Open Mathematics

Similarity:

Let A = PQT, where P and Q are two n × 2 complex matrices of full column rank such that QTP is singular. We solve the quadratic matrix equation AXA = XAX. Together with a previous paper devoted to the case that QTP is nonsingular, we have completely solved the matrix equation with any given matrix A of rank-two.
