This is a survey (including new results) of relations ?some emergent, others established? among three notions which the 1980s saw introduced into knot theory: quasipositivity of a link, the enhanced Milnor number of a fibered link, and the new link polynomials. The Seifert form fails to determine these invariants; perhaps there exists an ?enhanced Seifert form? which does.

In this paper we give a direct and explicit description of the local topological embedding of a plane curve singularity using the Puiseux expansions of its branches in a given set of coordinates.

We consider smooth knottings of compact (not necessarily orientable) n-dimensional manifolds in (or ), for the cases n=2 or n=3. In a previous paper we have generalized the notion of the Reidemeister moves of classical knot theory. In this paper we examine in more detail the above mentioned dimensions. Examples are given; in particular we examine projections of twist-spun knots. Knot moves are given which demonstrate the triviality of the 1-twist spun trefoil. Another application...

We consider a contractible closure of the space of Legendrian knots in the standard contact 3-space. We show that in this context the space of finite-type complex-valued invariants of Legendrian knots is isomorphic to that of framed knots in with an extra order 1 generator (Maslov index) added.
