There is a well known relation between simple algebraic groups and simple singularities, cf. [5], [28]. The simple singularities appear as the generic singularity in codimension two of the unipotent variety of simple algebraic groups. Furthermore, the semi-universal deformation and the simultaneous resolution of the singularity can be constructed in terms of the algebraic group. The aim of these notes is to extend this kind of relation to loop groups and simple elliptic singularities....

We have investigated the behaviour of solutions of elliptic quasi-linear problems in a neighbourhood of boundary singularities in bounded and unbounded domains. We found exponents of the solution’s decreasing rate near the boundary singularities.

We consider a mirror symmetry of simple elliptic singularities. In particular, we construct isomorphisms of Frobenius manifolds among the one from the Gromov–Witten theory of a weighted projective line, the one from the theory of primitive forms for a universal unfolding of a simple elliptic singularity and the one from the invariant theory for an elliptic Weyl group. As a consequence, we give a geometric interpretation of the Fourier coefficients of an eta product considered by K. Saito. ...

We propose, on a model case, a new approach to classical results obtained by V. A. Kondrat'ev (1967), P. Grisvard (1972), (1985), H. Blum and R. Rannacher (1980), V. G. Tami (2016), and others, describing the singularities of solutions of an elliptic problem on a polygonal domain of the plane that may appear near a corner. It provides a more precise description of how the...
