Sensors and boundary state reconstruction of hyperbolic systems

El Hassan Zerrik, Hamid Bourray, Samir Ben Hadid (2010)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

This paper deals with the problem of regional observability of hyperbolic systems in the case where the subregion of interest is a boundary part of the system evolution domain. We give a definition and establish characterizations in connection with the sensor structure. Then we show that it is possible to reconstruct the system state on a subregion of the boundary. The developed approach, based on the Hilbert uniqueness method (Lions, 1988), leads to a reconstruction algorithm. The obtained...

Admissible disturbance sets for discrete perturbed systems

Jamal Bouyaghroumni, Abdelhaq El Jai, Mostafa Rachik (2001)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

We consider a discrete disturbed system given by the difference bilinear equation where are disturbances which excite the system in a linear and a bilinear form. We assume that the system is augmented with the output function. Let be a tolerance index on the output. The disturbance is said to be -admissible if, where is the output signal associated with the case of an uninfected system. The set of all -admissible disturbances is the admissible set. The characterization of is investigated...

Inverse series relations, formal power series and Blodgett-Gessel's type binomial identities.

Chu Wenchang (1997)

Collectanea Mathematica

Similarity:

A pair of simple bivariate inverse series relations are used by embedding machinery to produce several double summation formulae on shifted factorials (or binomial coefficients), including the evaluation due to Blodgett-Gessel. Their q-analogues are established in the second section. Some generalized convolutions are presented through formal power series manipulation.

Positive partial realization problem for linear discrete-time systems

Tadeusz Kaczorek (2007)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

A partial realization problem for positive linear discrete-time systems is addressed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of its solution are established. A procedure for the computation of a positive partial realization for a given finite sequence of the values of the impulse response is proposed. The procedure is illustrated by four numerical examples.
