On the conformal relation between twistors and Killing spinors

[For the entire collection see Zbl 0699.00032.] The author considers the conformal relation between twistors and spinors on a Riemannian spin manifold of dimension n 3 . A first integral is constructed for a twistor spinor and various geometric properties of the spin manifold are deduced. The notions of a conformal deformation and a Killing spinor are considered and such a deformation of a twistor spinor into a Killing spinor and conditions for the equivalence of these quantities is indicated. ...

Skew Killing spinors

We study the existence of a skew Killing spinor on 2- and 3-dimensional Riemannian spin manifolds. We establish the integrability conditions and prove that these spinor fields correspond to twistor spinors in the two dimensional case while, up to a conformal change of the metric, they correspond to parallel spinors in the three dimensional case.

Weyl submersions of Weyl manifolds

We define Weyl submersions, for which we derive equations analogous to the Gauss and Codazzi equations for an isometric immersion. We obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the total space of a Weyl submersion to admit an Einstein-Weyl structure. Moreover, we investigate the Einstein-Weyl structure of canonical variations of the total space with Einstein-Weyl structure.

We study when the Jacobi operator associated to the Weyl conformal curvature tensor has constant eigenvalues on the bundle of unit spacelike or timelike tangent vectors. This leads to questions in the conformal geometry of pseudo-Riemannian manifolds which generalize the Osserman conjecture to this setting. We also study similar questions related to the skew-symmetric curvature operator defined by the Weyl conformal curvature tensor.

We study the Jones and Tod correspondence between selfdual conformal 4 -manifolds with a conformal vector field and abelian monopoles on Einstein-Weyl 3 -manifolds, and prove that invariant complex structures correspond to shear-free geodesic congruences. Such congruences exist in abundance and so provide a tool for constructing interesting selfdual geometries with symmetry, unifying the theories of scalar-flat Kähler metrics and hypercomplex structures with symmetry. We also show that...
