Remarks on symmetries of parabolic geometries

Lenka Zalabová (2006)

Archivum Mathematicum

Similarity:

We consider symmetries on filtered manifolds and we study the | 1 | -graded parabolic geometries in more details. We discuss the existence of symmetries on the homogeneous models and we conclude some simple observations on the general curved geometries.

Differential Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras arising from twilled Lie-Rinehart algebras

Similarity:

Twilled L(ie-)R(inehart)-algebras generalize, in the Lie-Rinehart context, complex structures on smooth manifolds. An almost complex manifold determines an "almost twilled pre-LR algebra", which is a true twilled LR-algebra iff the almost complex structure is integrable. We characterize twilled LR structures in terms of certain associated differential (bi)graded Lie and G(erstenhaber)-algebras; in particular the G-algebra arising from an almost complex structure is a (strict) d(ifferential)...

Explicit expression of Cartan’s connection for Levi-nondegenerate 3-manifolds in complex surfaces, and identification of the Heisenberg sphere

We study effectively the Cartan geometry of Levi-nondegenerate C 6-smooth hypersurfaces M 3 in ℂ2. Notably, we present the so-called curvature function of a related Tanaka-type normal connection explicitly in terms of a graphing function for M, which is the initial, single available datum. Vanishing of this curvature function then characterizes explicitly the local biholomorphic equivalence of such M 3 ⊂ ℂ2 to the Heisenberg sphere ℍ3, such M’s being necessarily real analytic. ...
