Mathematical modeling of antigenicity for HIV dynamics

François Dubois, Hervé V.J. Le Meur, Claude Reiss (2010)

MathematicS In Action

Similarity:

This contribution is devoted to a new model of HIV multiplication motivated by the patent of one of the authors. We take into account the antigenic diversity through what we define “antigenicity”, whether of the virus or of the adapted lymphocytes. We model the interaction of the immune system and the viral strains by two processes. On the one hand, the presence of a given viral quasi-species generates antigenically adapted lymphocytes. On the other hand, the lymphocytes kill only viruses...

On the global dynamics of the cancer AIDS-related mathematical model

Konstantin E. Starkov, Corina Plata-Ante (2014)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

In this paper we examine some features of the global dynamics of the four-dimensional system created by Lou, Ruggeri and Ma in 2007 which describes the behavior of the AIDS-related cancer dynamic model in vivo. We give upper and lower ultimate bounds for concentrations of cell populations and the free HIV-1 involved in this model. We show for this dynamics that there is a positively invariant polytope and we find a few surfaces containing omega-limit sets for positive half trajectories...

Flocking with informed agents

Felipe Cucker, Cristián Huepe (2008)

MathematicS In Action

Similarity:

Two similar Laplacian-based models for swarms with informed agents are proposed and analyzed analytically and numerically. In these models, each individual adjusts its velocity to match that of its neighbors and some individuals are given a preferred heading direction towards which they accelerate if there is no local velocity consensus. The convergence to a collective group swarming state with constant velocity is analytically proven for a range of parameters and initial conditions....

Stability analysis for neutral stochastic systems with mixed delays

Huabin Chen, Peng Hu (2013)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

This paper is concerned with the problem of the exponential stability in mean square moment for neutral stochastic systems with mixed delays, which are composed of the retarded one and the neutral one, respectively. Based on an integral inequality, a delay-dependent stability criterion for such systems is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) to ensure a large upper bounds of the neutral delay and the retarded delay by dividing the neutral delay interval into multiple segments....

Convergence model of interest rates of CKLS type

Zuzana Zíková, Beáta Stehlíková (2012)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

This paper deals with convergence model of interest rates, which explains the evolution of interest rate in connection with the adoption of Euro currency. Its dynamics is described by two stochastic differential equations – the domestic and the European short rate. Bond prices are then solutions to partial differential equations. For the special case with constant volatilities closed form solutions for bond prices are known. Substituting its constant volatilities by instantaneous volatilities...
