Algebras of holomorphic functions with Hadamard multiplication

Hermann Render, Andreas Sauer (1996)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

A systematic investigation of algebras of holomorphic functions endowed with the Hadamard product is given. For example we show that the set of all non-invertible elements is dense and that each multiplicative functional is continuous, answering some questions in the literature.

Positive operator bimeasures and a noncommutative generalization

Kari Ylinen (1996)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

For C*-algebras A and B and a Hilbert space H, a class of bilinear maps Φ: A× B → L(H), analogous to completely positive linear maps, is studied. A Stinespring type representation theorem is proved, and in case A and B are commutative, the class is shown to coincide with that of positive bilinear maps. As an application, the extendibility of a positive operator bimeasure to a positive operator measure is shown to be equivalent to various conditions involving positive scalar bimeasures,...

One-parameter subgroups and the B-C-H formula

Wojciech Wojtyński (1994)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

An algebraic scheme for Lie theory of topological groups with "large" families of one-parameter subgroups is proposed. Such groups are quotients of "𝔼ℝ-groups", i.e. topological groups equipped additionally with the continuous exterior binary operation of multiplication by real numbers, and generated by special ("exponential") elements. It is proved that under natural conditions on the topology of an 𝔼ℝ-group its group multiplication is described by the B-C-H formula in terms of the...
