Existence of loops for non-injective regular analytic transformations of the real plane is shown. As an application, a criterion for injectivity of a regular analytic transformation of in terms of the Jacobian and the first and second order partial derivatives is obtained. This criterion is new even in the special case of polynomial transformations.

For the scalar holomorphic discrete series representations of and their analytic continuations, we study the spectrum of a non-compact real form of the maximal compact subgroup inside . We construct a Cayley transform between the Ol’shanskiĭ semigroup having as Šilov boundary and an open dense subdomain of the Hermitian symmetric space for . This allows calculating the composition series in terms of harmonic analysis on . In particular we show that the Ol’shanskiĭ Hardy space...

Neither real analytic sets nor the images of real or complex analytic mappings are, in general, coherent. Let be a morphism of real analytic spaces, and let be a homomorphism of coherent modules over the induced ring homomorphism . We conjecture that, despite the failure of coherence, certain natural discrete invariants of the modules of formal relations , , are upper semi-continuous in the analytic Zariski topology of . We prove semicontinuity in many cases (e.g. in the algebraic...

For a function (where is a real algebraic manifold) the following problem is studied. If is an algebraic subvariety of , can be approximated by rational regular functions such that We find that this is possible if and only if there exists a rational regular function such that and g(x) for any in . Similar results are obtained also in the analytic and in the Nash cases. For non approximable functions the minimal flatness locus...
