Determining of right-hand side of higher order ultraparabolic equation

Nataliya Protsakh (2017)

Open Mathematics

Similarity:

In the paper the conditions of the existence and uniqueness of the solution for the inverse problem for higher order ultraparabolic equation are obtained. The equation contains two unknown functions of spatial and time variables in its right-hand side. The overdetermination conditions of the integral type are used.

Application of Calderón's inverse problem in civil engineering

Jan Havelka, Jan Sýkora (2018)

Applications of Mathematics

Similarity:

In specific fields of research such as preservation of historical buildings, medical imaging, geophysics and others, it is of particular interest to perform only a non-intrusive boundary measurements. The idea is to obtain comprehensive information about the material properties inside the considered domain while keeping the test sample intact. This paper is focused on such problems, i.e. synthesizing a physical model of interest with a boundary inverse value technique. The forward model...

On forward and inverse uncertainty quantification for a model for a magneto mechanical device involving a hysteresis operator

Olaf Klein (2023)

Applications of Mathematics

Similarity:

Modeling real world objects and processes one may have to deal with hysteresis effects but also with uncertainties. Following D. Davino, P. Krejčí, and C. Visone (2013), a model for a magnetostrictive material involving a generalized Prandtl-Ishlinski-operator is considered here. Using results of measurements, some parameters in the model are determined and inverse Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) is used to determine random densities to describe the remaining parameters and their uncertainties....

Analysis of the descriptor Roesser model with the use of the Drazin inverse

Tadeusz Kaczorek (2015)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

A method of analysis for a class of descriptor 2D discrete-time linear systems described by the Roesser model with a regular pencil is proposed. The method is based on the transformation of the model to a special form with the use of elementary row and column operations and on the application of a Drazin inverse of matrices to handle the model. The method is illustrated with a numerical example.

Explicit solutions of infinite linear systems associated with group inverse endomorphisms

Fernando Pablos Romo (2022)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

Similarity:

The aim of this note is to offer an algorithm for studying solutions of infinite linear systems associated with group inverse endomorphisms. As particular results, we provide different properties of the group inverse and we characterize EP endomorphisms of arbitrary vector spaces from the coincidence of the group inverse and the Moore-Penrose inverse.

Parameters identification of material models based on the inverse analysis

Danuta Szeliga, Jerzy Gawąd, Maciej Pietrzyk (2004)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

The paper presents an application of the inverse analysis to the identification of two models: a phase transformation model and a rheological model. The optimization algorithm for the inverse analysis was tested for various techniques of searching for the minimum: derivative-free and gradient methods, as well as genetic algorithms. Simulation results were validated for microalloyed niobium steel. An optimization strategy, which is adequate for the inverse analysis, is suggested. ...

A uniqueness result for an inverse problem

Robert Dalmasso (2004)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

Similarity:

We establish a uniqueness result for an overdetermined boundary value problem. We also raise a new question.
