Weak* properties of weighted convolution algebras II

Sandy Grabiner (2010)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

We show that if ϕ is a continuous homomorphism between weighted convolution algebras on ℝ⁺, then its extension to the corresponding measure algebras is always weak* continuous. A key step in the proof is showing that our earlier result that normalized powers of functions in a convolution algebra on ℝ⁺ go to zero weak* is also true for most measures in the corresponding measure algebra. For some algebras, we can determine precisely which measures have normalized powers converging to zero...

The weak Phillips property

Ali Ülger (2001)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

Let X be a Banach space. If the natural projection p:X*** → X* is sequentially weak*-weak continuous then the space X is said to have the weak Phillips property. We present several characterizations of the spaces having this property and study its relationships to other Banach space properties, especially the Grothendieck property.

Exact Solutions of Nonlocal Boundary Value Problems for One- and Two-Dimensional Heat Equation Точни решения на нелокални гранични задачи за едно- и двумерни уравнения на топлопроводноста

Dimovski, Ivan, Tsankov, Yulian (2012)

Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians

Similarity:

On some generalization of the t-transformation

Anna Dorota Krystek (2010)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

Using the Nevanlinna representation of the reciprocal of the Cauchy transform of probability measures, we introduce a two-parameter transformation U of probability measures on the real line ℝ, which is another possible generalization of the t-transformation. Using that deformation we define a new convolution by deformation of the free convolution. The central limit measure with respect to the -deformed free convolutions is still a Kesten measure, but the Poisson limit depends on the...
