Points of order p of generic formal groups

Karl Zimmermann (1988)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Similarity:

There are many similarities between elliptic curves and formal groups of finite height. The points of order p of a generic formal group are studied in order to develop the formal group analogue (applied to points of order p ) of the concept of level structure and that of the e n -pairing known in elliptic curve theory.

Solving power series equations. II. Change of ground field

Joseph Becker (1979)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Similarity:

We study the effect of changing the residue field, on the topological properties of local algebra homomorphisms of analytic algebras (quotients of convergent power series rings). Although injectivity is not preserved, openness and closedness in the Krull topology, simple topology, and inductive topology is preserved.

Relations among analytic functions. I

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Similarity:

Neither real analytic sets nor the images of real or complex analytic mappings are, in general, coherent. Let Φ : X Y be a morphism of real analytic spaces, and let Ψ : 𝒢 be a homomorphism of coherent modules over the induced ring homomorphism Φ * : 𝒪 Y 𝒪 X . We conjecture that, despite the failure of coherence, certain natural discrete invariants of the modules of formal relations a = Ker Ψ ^ a , a X , are upper semi-continuous in the analytic Zariski topology of X . We prove semicontinuity in many cases (e.g. in the algebraic...

On rings close to regular and p -injectivity

The following results are proved for a ring A : (1) If A is a fully right idempotent ring having a classical left quotient ring Q which is right quasi-duo, then Q is a strongly regular ring; (2) A has a classical left quotient ring Q which is a finite direct sum of division rings iff A is a left TC -ring having a reduced maximal right ideal and satisfying the maximum condition on left annihilators; (3) Let A have the following properties: (a) each maximal left ideal of A is either a two-sided...
