Control treatments in designs with split units generated by Latin squares

Shinji Kuriki, Iwona Mejza, Kazuhiro Ozawa, Stanisław Mejza (2014)

Biometrical Letters

This paper deals with two-factor experiments with split units. The whole plot treatments occur in a repeated Latin square, modified Latin square or Youden square, while subplot treatments occur in a block design within the whole plots. The statistical properties of the considered designs are examined. Special attention is paid to the case where one of the treatments is an individual control or an individual standard treatment. In addition, we give a brief overview of work on the design of experiments...

D-optimal cyclic two-dimensional block designs.

Jagdish N. Srivastava, A. M. Wijetunga (1983)

Trabajos de Estadística e Investigación Operativa

In this paper we consider a class of incomplete block designs in which every block is two dimensional. Thus heterogeneity is removed not only between blocks, but also in two directions within each block. Such designs have been considered before in Srivastava (1977,1978). Here, we consider the class of cyclic designs of this type when the number of treatments ν is an odd number between 5 and 25, and present designs that are D-optimal within this class.

Efficiency of cropping system designs via base contrast

U. Bronowicka-Mielniczuk, J. Mielniczuk, T. Przybysz (2000)

Applicationes Mathematicae

The present article is a continuation of previous papers by the same authors devoted to the efficiency of crop rotation experiments. We focus on plans distinguished by the cyclical pattern of the incidence matrix. For practical reasons, we slightly modify the efficiency coefficient. The relation between the resulting efficiency coefficients is examined. In addition, we provide a background material on crop rotation experiments.

Graphs, topologies and simple games.

Jesús Mario Bilbao (2000)

Qüestiió

We study the existence of connected coalitions in a simple game restricted by a partial order. First, we define a topology compatible with the partial order in the set of players. Second, we prove some properties of the covering and comparability graphs of a finite poset. Finally, we analize the core and obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of winning coalitions such that contains dominant players in simple games restricted by the connected subspaces of a finite topological space.

Note on the ANOVA of a completely confounded factorial experiment

Wiktor Oktaba (2005)

Applicationes Mathematicae

The purpose of this paper is to present a modern approach to the analysis of variance (ANOVA) of disconnected resolvable group divisible partially balanced incomplete block (GDPBIB) designs with factorial structure and with some interaction effects completely confounded. A characterization of a factorial experiment with completely confounded interaction is given. The treatment effect estimators and some relations between the matrix F of the reduced normal equations and the information matrix A are...

On a characterization of symmetric balanced incomplete block designs

R.N. Mohan, Sanpei Kageyama, M.M. Nair (2004)

Discussiones Mathematicae Probability and Statistics

All the symmetric balanced incomplete block (SBIB) designs have been characterized and a new generalized expression on parameters of SBIB designs has been obtained. The parameter b has been formulated in a different way which is denoted by bi, i = 1, 2, 3, associating with the types of the SBIB design Di. The parameters of all the designs obtained through this representation have been tabulated while corresponding them with the suitable formulae for the number ofblocks bi and the expression Si for...
