Cottle’s proof that the minimal number of -simplices needed to triangulate the unit -cube equals uses a modest amount of computer generated results. In this paper we remove the need for computer aid, using some lemmas that may be useful also in a broader context. One of the -simplices involved, the so-called antipodal simplex, has acute dihedral angles. We continue with the study of such acute binary simplices and point out their possible relation to the Hadamard determinant problem.
Independently with [7] a corresponding fuzzy approach has been developed in [3-5] with applications in measure theory. One of the results the Egoroff theorem has been proved in an abstract form. In this paper we consider a parabolic inverse problem in which two unknown functions are involved in the boundary conditions, and attempt to recover these functions by measuring the values of the flux on the boundary. Explicit solutions for the temperature and the radiation terms are derived, and some stability and asymptotic results are discussed. Finally, by using the newly proposed numerical procedure some computational results are presented.
