In the presented work, we study the regularity of solutions to the generalized Navier-Stokes problem up to a C 2 boundary in dimensions two and three. The point of our generalization is an assumption that a deviatoric part of a stress tensor depends on a shear rate and on a pressure. We focus on estimates of the Hausdorff measure of a singular set which is defined as a complement of a set where a solution is Hölder continuous. We use so-called indirect approach to show partial regularity, for dimension...
We deal with a generalization of the Stokes system. Instead of the Laplace operator, we consider a general elliptic operator and a pressure gradient with small perturbations. We investigate the existence and uniqueness of a solution as well its regularity properties. Two types of regularity are provided. Aside from the classical Hilbert regularity, we also prove the Hölder regularity for coefficients in VMO space.
We study higher local integrability of a weak solution to the steady Stokes problem. We consider the case of a pressure- and shear-rate-dependent viscosity, i.e., the elliptic part of the Stokes problem is assumed to be nonlinear and it depends on and on the symmetric part of a gradient of , namely, it is represented by a stress tensor which satisfies -growth condition with . In order to get the main result, we use Calderón-Zygmund theory and the method which was presented for example in...
The coupled Navier-Stokes/Allen-Cahn system is a simple model to describe phase separation in two-component systems interacting with an incompressible fluid flow. We demonstrate the weak-strong uniqueness result for this system in a bounded domain in three spatial dimensions which implies that when a strong solution exists, then a weak solution emanating from the same data coincides with the strong solution on its whole life span. The proof of given assertion relies on a form of a relative entropy...
We construct two particular solutions of the full Euler system which emanate from the same initial data. Our aim is to show that the convex combination of these two solutions form a measure-valued solution which may not be approximated by a sequence of weak solutions. As a result, the weak* closure of the set of all weak solutions, considered as parametrized measures, is not equal to the space of all measure-valued solutions. This is in stark contrast with the incompressible Euler equations.
