Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

The heterogeneous component 3-8 S, labeled with H-leucine after incubation of rat thyroid hemilobes in vitro, has been fractionated by means of several centrifugations in sucrose density gradients. Two labeled components, the H-6 S and the H-7 S proteins have been isolated in ultracentrifugally homogeneous form. Their relations with 19 S thyroglobulin from the same species have been ascertained by means of immunologic criteria. The molecular weight of the two proteins, determined by filtration through...

Biosintesi della tireoglobulina: studi sulla frazione poliribosomiale tiroidea di ratto

Sergio CarlomagnoGiancarlo VecchioSalvatore M. Aloj — 1971

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

The ribosomal fraction from rat thyroid glands has been isolated after in vivo and in vitro labeling with tritiated leucine by means of differential centrifugation, Na-DOC treatment and ultracentrifugation in sucrose density gradients. The single ribosomes (78 S) have been separated from heavier aggregates (polyribosomes). These last particles appear of at least two classes, one having sedimentation coefficient of about 180 S and the other of 230-250 S. The first class is composed of aggregates...
