Following a suggestion of W.M. Schmidt and L. Summerer, we construct a proper $3$-system $(P_1,P_2,P_3)$ with the property ${\overline{\varphi }}_3=1$. In fact, our method generalizes to provide $n$-systems with ${\overline{\varphi }}_n=1$, for arbitrary $n\ge 3$. We visualize our constructions with graphics. We further present explicit examples of numbers ${\xi }_1,...,{\xi }_{n-1}$ that induce the $n$-systems in question.

We are interested in regularizing effect of the interplay between the coefficient of zero order term and the datum in some noncoercive integral functionals of the type $$𝒥\left(v\right)={\int }_{\Omega }j(x,v,\nabla v)\mathrm{d}x+{\int }_{\Omega }a\left(x\right){\left|v\right|}^2\mathrm{d}x-{\int }_{\Omega }fv\mathrm{d}x,v\in W_0^{1,2}\left(\Omega \right),$$ where $\Omega \subset {ℝ}^N$, $j$ is a Carathéodory function such that $\xi \mapsto j(x,s,\xi )$ is convex, and there exist constants $0\le \tau <1$ and $M>0$ such that $$\frac{{\left|\xi \right|}^2}{{(1+|s\left|\right)}^{\tau }}\le j(x,s,\xi )\le M{\left|\xi \right|}^2$$ for almost all $x\in \Omega$, all $s\in ℝ$ and all $\xi \in {ℝ}^N$. We show that, even if $0<a\left(x\right)$ and $f\left(x\right)$ only belong to $L^1\left(\Omega \right)$, the interplay $$\left|f\right(x\left)\right|\le 2Qa\left(x\right)$$ implies the existence of a minimizer $u\in W_0^{1,2}\left(\Omega \right)$ which belongs to $L^{\infty }\left(\Omega \right)$.

In this paper we prove the following theorems in incidence geometry. 1. There is $\delta >0$ such that for any $P_1,\cdots ,P_4$, and $Q_1,\cdots ,Q_n\in {ℂ}^2$, if there are $\le n^{(1+\delta )/2}$ many distinct lines between $P_i$ and $Q_j$ for all $i$, $j$, then $P_1,\cdots ,P_4$ are collinear. We study sums and products in a field. Let $F$ be a field with $\mathrm{ch}\left(F\right)\ne 2$, where $\mathrm{ch}\left(F\right)$ is the characteristic of $F$. For any integer $k\ge 4$, we show that any $x\in F$ can be written as $a_1+\cdots +a_k$ with $a_1,\cdots ,a_k\in F$ and $a_1\cdots a_k=1$, and that for any $\alpha \in F\setminus \left\{0\right\}$ we can write every $x\in F$ as $a_1\cdots a_k$ with $a_1,\cdots ,a_k\in F$ and $a_1+\cdots +a_k=\alpha$. We also prove that for any $x\in F$ and $k\in \{2,3,\cdots \}$ there are $a_1,\cdots ,a_{2k}\in F$ such that $a_1+\cdots +a_{2k}=x=a_1\cdots a_{2k}$.

Let $D$ be a ${𝒞}^d$ $q$-convex intersection, $d\ge 2$, $0\le q\le n-1$, in a complex manifold $X$ of complex dimension $n$, $n\ge 2$, and let $E$ be a holomorphic vector bundle of rank $N$ over $X$. In this paper, ${𝒞}^k$-estimates, $k=2,3,\cdots ,\infty$, for solutions to the $\overline{\partial }$-equation with small loss of smoothness are obtained for $E$-valued $(0,s)$-forms on $D$ when $n-q\le s\le n$. Given a coarse space $(X,ℰ)$ with the bornology $ℬ$ of bounded subsets, we extend the coarse structure $ℰ$ from $X\times X$ to the natural coarse structure on $(ℬ\setminus \{\varnothing \left\}\right)\times (ℬ\setminus \{\varnothing \left\}\right)$ and say that a macro-uniform mapping $f:(ℬ\setminus \{\varnothing \left\}\right)\to X$ (or $f:{\left[X\right]}^2\to X$) is a selector (or 2-selector) of $(X,ℰ)$ if $f\left(A\right)\in A$ for each $A\in ℬ\setminus \left\{\varnothing \right\}$ ($A\in {\left[X\right]}^2$, respectively).
