The paper presents materials based on inducing a comparison of two fictional children's word problem-solving strategies, correct or incorrect. Pupils are guided to understand the strategy and to be able to justify its steps and, for incorrect solutions, to identify the nature of the error.

The paper presents the materials called Varied word problems, whose aim is to develop problem-solving through the student's deeper understanding of the internal structure of word problems. Varied word problems consist of one basic task and two/three variations of the same context and different mathematical structures.

Finite element analysis of unilateral problems with obstacles on the boundary is given. Provided the exact solution is smooth enough, we obtain the rate of convergence for the case of one and two (lower and upper) obstacles on the boundary. At the end of this paper the proof of convergence without any regularity assumptions on the exact solution is given.

A new class of prime numbers - Baťa primes - is introduced. A positive integer is called a Baťa prime of class k if it ends with at least k 9s. We prove that for any positive integer k there exist infinitely many Baťa primes of class k. Some generalizations of this statement are given as well.
