Characterization of the domain of an elliptic operator of infinitely many variables in L 2 μ spaces

Giuseppe Da Prato (1997)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti Lincei. Matematica e Applicazioni

Similarity:

We consider an elliptic operator associated to a Dirichlet form corresponding to a differential stochastic equation of potential form. We characterize the domain of the operator as a subspace of W 2 , 2 μ , where m u is the invariant measure of the differential stochastic equation.

On the representation of Dirichlet forms

Lars-Erik Andersson (1975)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Similarity:

A general representation theorem is obtained for positive quadratic forms, defined on C 00 1 ( Ω ) (the space of continuously differentiable functions with compact support contained in Ω R n ) which are local and on which all normal contractions operate.

Continuous measures on compact Lie groups

M. Anoussis, A. Bisbas (2000)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Similarity:

We study continuous measures on a compact semisimple Lie group G using representation theory. In Section 2 we prove a Wiener type characterization of a continuous measure. Next we construct central measures on G which are related to the well known Riesz products on locally compact abelian groups. Using these measures we show in Section 3 that if C is a compact set of continuous measures on G there exists a singular measure ν such that ν * μ is absolutely continuous with respect to the Haar...

Permutations preserving Cesàro mean, densities of natural numbers and uniform distribution of sequences

M. Blümlinger, N. Obata (1991)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Similarity:

We are interested in permutations preserving certain distribution properties of sequences. In particular we consider μ -uniformly distributed sequences on a compact metric space X , 0-1 sequences with densities, and Cesàro summable bounded sequences. It is shown that the maximal subgroups, respectively subsemigroups, of A u t ( N ) leaving any of the above spaces invariant coincide. A subgroup of these permutation groups, which can be determined explicitly, is the Lévy group 𝒢 . We show that 𝒢 is...
