On strongly l p -summing m-linear operators

Lahcène Mezrag (2008)

Colloquium Mathematicae

We introduce and study a new concept of strongly l p -summing m-linear operators in the category of operator spaces. We give some characterizations of this notion such as the Pietsch domination theorem and we show that an m-linear operator is strongly l p -summing if and only if its adjoint is l p -summing.

Polynomial ultradistributions: differentiation and Laplace transformation

O. Łopuszański (2010)

Banach Center Publications

We consider the multiplicative algebra P(𝒢₊') of continuous scalar polynomials on the space 𝒢₊' of Roumieu ultradistributions on [0,∞) as well as its strong dual P'(𝒢₊'). The algebra P(𝒢₊') is densely embedded into P'(𝒢₊') and the operation of multiplication possesses a unique extension to P'(𝒢₊'), that is, P'(𝒢₊') is also an algebra. The operation of differentiation on these algebras is investigated. The polynomially extended Laplace transformation and its connections with the differentiation...

Preduals of spaces of vector-valued holomorphic functions

Christopher Boyd (2003)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

For U a balanced open subset of a Fréchet space E and F a dual-Banach space we introduce the topology τ γ on the space ( U , F ) of holomorphic functions from U into F . This topology allows us to construct a predual for ( ( U , F ) , τ δ ) which in turn allows us to investigate the topological structure of spaces of vector-valued holomorphic functions. In particular, we are able to give necessary and sufficient conditions for the equivalence and compatibility of various topologies on spaces of vector-valued holomorphic functions....

Representation of multilinear operators on C(K, X) spaces.

Ignacio Villanueva (2002)

RACSAM

We present a Riesz type representation theorem for multilinear operators defined on the product of C(K,X) spaces with values in a Banach space. In order to do this we make a brief exposition of the theory of operator valued polymeasures.

The bidual of a tensor product of Banach spaces.

Félix Cabello Sánchez, Ricardo García (2005)

Revista Matemática Iberoamericana

This paper studies the relationship between the bidual of the (projective) tensor product of Banach spaces and the tensor product of their biduals.

The Daugavet equation for polynomials

Yun Sung Choi, Domingo García, Manuel Maestre, Miguel Martín (2007)

Studia Mathematica

We study when the Daugavet equation is satisfied for weakly compact polynomials on a Banach space X, i.e. when the equality ||Id + P|| = 1 + ||P|| is satisfied for all weakly compact polynomials P: X → X. We show that this is the case when X = C(K), the real or complex space of continuous functions on a compact space K without isolated points. We also study the alternative Daugavet equation m a x | ω | = 1 | | I d + ω P | | = 1 + | | P | | for polynomials P: X → X. We show that this equation holds for every polynomial on the complex space X =...

The symmetric tensor product of a direct sum of locally convex spaces

José Ansemil, Klaus Floret (1998)

Studia Mathematica

An explicit representation of the n-fold symmetric tensor product (equipped with a natural topology τ such as the projective, injective or inductive one) of the finite direct sum of locally convex spaces is presented. The formula for τ , s n ( F 1 F 2 ) gives a direct proof of a recent result of Díaz and Dineen (and generalizes it to other topologies τ) that the n-fold projective symmetric and the n-fold projective “full” tensor product of a locally convex space E are isomorphic if E is isomorphic to its square E 2 .

Unconditionality for m-homogeneous polynomials on

Andreas Defant, Pablo Sevilla-Peris (2016)

Studia Mathematica

Let χ(m,n) be the unconditional basis constant of the monomial basis z α , α ∈ ℕ₀ⁿ with |α| = m, of the Banach space of all m-homogeneous polynomials in n complex variables, endowed with the supremum norm on the n-dimensional unit polydisc ⁿ. We prove that the quotient of s u p m s u p m χ ( m , n ) m and √(n/log n) tends to 1 as n → ∞. This reflects a quite precise dependence of χ(m,n) on the degree m of the polynomials and their number n of variables. Moreover, we give an analogous formula for m-linear forms, a reformulation...

Unconditionally convergent polynomials in Banach spaces and related properties.

M.ª Teresa Fernández Unzueta (1997)

Extracta Mathematicae

Our aim is to introduce a new notion of unconditionallity, in the context of polynomials in Banach spaces, that looks directly to the polynomial topology defined on the involved spaces. This notion allows us to generalize some well-known relations of duality that appear in the linear context.
