Erratum: Second-order approximation of the entropy in nonlinear least-squares estimation
This paper deals with experimental designs adapted to a generalized linear model. We introduce a special link function for which the orthogonality of design matrix obtained under Gaussian assumption is preserved. We investigate by simulation some of its properties.
We study the existence of connected coalitions in a simple game restricted by a partial order. First, we define a topology compatible with the partial order in the set of players. Second, we prove some properties of the covering and comparability graphs of a finite poset. Finally, we analize the core and obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of winning coalitions such that contains dominant players in simple games restricted by the connected subspaces of a finite topological space.
In this work, a feedforward dynamic controller is devised in order to achieve H2-optimal rejection of signals known with finite preview, in discrete-time systems. The feedforward approach requires plant stability and, more generally, robustness with respect to parameter uncertainties. On standard assumptions, those properties can be guaranteed by output dynamic feedback, while dynamic feedforward is specifically aimed at taking advantage of the available preview of the signals to be rejected, in...
Nonsensitiveness regions for estimators of linear functions, for confidence ellipsoids, for the level of a test of a linear hypothesis on parameters and for the value of the power function are investigated in a linear model with variance components. The influence of the design of an experiment on the nonsensitiveness regions mentioned is numerically demonstrated and discussed on an example.
Commutative Jordan algebras are used to drive an highly tractable framework for balanced factorial designs with a prime number p of levels for their factors. Both fixed effects and random effects models are treated. Sufficient complete statistics are obtained and used to derive UMVUE for the relevant parameters. Confidence regions are obtained and it is shown how to use duality for hypothesis testing.
A random process (field) with given parametrized mean and covariance function is observed at a finite number of chosen design points. The information about its parameters is measured via the Fisher information matrix (for normally distributed observations) or using information functionals depending on that matrix. Conditions are stated, under which the contribution of one design point to this information is zero. Explicit expressions are obtained for the amount of information coming from a selected...
The Fisher information matrices are derived for three of the most popular elliptically symmetric distributions: the Pearson type II, Pearson type VII and the Kotz type distributions. We hope the results could be important to the many researchers working in this area.
Some useful tools in modelling linear experiments with general multi-way classification of the random effects and some convenient forms of the covariance matrix and its inverse are presented. Moreover, the Sherman-Morrison-Woodbury formula is applied for inverting the covariance matrix in such experiments.
