Maximizing residual capacity in connection-oriented networks.
The minimization of the total completion time for asynchronous transmission in distributed systems is discussed. Attention is focused on the problem of message scheduling on part of the sender. Messages to be sent form a queue, and the order in which they are to be sent has to be first established. The methods of scheduling messages, which minimize the factor of the total completion time, are presented herein. The message-scheduling problem becomes considerably complicated when the stream of data...
Classical association rules, here called “direct”, reflect relationships existing between items that relatively often co-occur in common transactions. In the web domain, items correspond to pages and transactions to user sessions. The main idea of the new approach presented is to discover indirect associations existing between pages that rarely occur together but there are other, “third” pages, called transitive, with which they appear relatively frequently. Two types of indirect associations rules...
Design of model following control system (MFCS) for nonlinear system with time delays and disturbances is discussed. In this paper, the method of MFCS will be extended to nonlinear system with time delays. We set the nonlinear part of the controlled object as , and show the bounded of internal states by separating the nonlinear part into . Some preliminary numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
The principal modelling and simulation features of multistage interconnection networks operating in packet switching are discussed in this paper. The networks studied interconnect processors and memory modules in multiprocessor systems. Several methods are included to increase the bandwidth achievable with this kind of networks. Besides using network buffering, the possibility of having queues of requests at the memory modules is considered. Network conflicts can be reduced using a second network...
