We consider the functional equation f(z+σ) - f(z) = g(z) where σ is a complex number, f and g are entire functions of a complex variable z, with growth conditions. We prove the existence of certain types of solutions of this equation by an a priori estimate method in certain weighted L2-spaces.

The principal goal of this paper is to show that the various sufficient conditions for a real entire function, φ(x), to belong to the Laguerre-Pólya class (Definition 1.1), expressed in terms of Laguerre-type inequalities, do not require the a priori assumptions about the order and type of φ(x). The proof of the main theorem (Theorem 2.3) involving the generalized real Laguerre inequalities, is based on a beautiful geometric result, the Borel-Carathédodory Inequality (Theorem 2.1), and on a deep...

The Laguerre inequality and the distribution of zeros of real entire functions are investigated with the aid of certain infinite-order differential operators. The paper includes new proofs, problems, conjectures and many illustrative examples and counterexamples.

Various derivative estimates for functions of exponential type in a half-plane are proved in this paper. The reader will also find a related result about functions analytic in a quadrant. In addition, the paper contains a result about functions analytic in a strip. Our main tool in this study is the Schwarz-Pick theorem from the geometric theory of functions. We also use the Phragmén-Lindelöf principle, which is of course standard in such situations.

We shall consider the Schrödinger operators on with the magnetic field given by a nonnegative constant field plus random magnetic fields of the Anderson type or of the Poisson-Anderson type. We shall investigate the spectrum of these operators by the method of the admissible potentials by Kirsch-Martinelli. Moreover, we shall prove the lower Landau levels are infinitely degenerated eigenvalues when the constant field is sufficiently large, by estimating the growth order of the eigenfunctions...
