The product formula.

Genaro López Acedo (1991)

Collectanea Mathematica

A useful property of the Brouwerdegree relates the degree of a composition of maps to the degree of each map. This property, which can be generalized for the Leray Schauder degree and in some cases for the A-proper maps is called the Product Formula. In a previous paper we developed a generalized degree theory for a class of mappings, this class contains the class of A-proper mappings and compact mappings. In this paper we prove a generalization of the Product Formula when one factor is of the Identity+Compact...

The super fixed point property for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings

Andrzej Wiśnicki (2012)

Fundamenta Mathematicae

We show that the super fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings and for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in the intermediate sense are equivalent. As a consequence, we obtain fixed point theorems for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in uniformly nonsquare and uniformly noncreasy Banach spaces. The results are generalized to commuting families of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings.

Topological degree theory in fuzzy metric spaces

M.H.M. Rashid (2019)

Archivum Mathematicum

The aim of this paper is to modify the theory to fuzzy metric spaces, a natural extension of probabilistic ones. More precisely, the modification concerns fuzzily normed linear spaces, and, after defining a fuzzy concept of completeness, fuzzy Banach spaces. After discussing some properties of mappings with compact images, we define the (Leray-Schauder) degree by a sort of colimit extension of (already assumed) finite dimensional ones. Then, several properties of thus defined concept are proved....

Two generic results in fixed point theory

Simeon Reich, Alexander J. Zaslavski (2007)

Banach Center Publications

We give two examples of the generic approach to fixed point theory. The first example is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of infinite products of nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces and the second with the existence and stability of fixed points of continuous mappings in finite-dimensional Euclidean spaces.
