We study the stability of self-similar solutions of the binormal flow, which is a model for the dynamics of vortex filaments in fluids and super-fluids. These particular solutions ${\chi }_a(t,x)$ form a family of evolving regular curves in ${ℝ}^3$ that develop a singularity in finite time, indexed by a parameter $a>0$. We consider curves that are small regular perturbations of ${\chi }_a(t_0,x)$ for a fixed time $t_0$. We investigate the two-component Nernst-Planck-Debye system by a numerical study of self-similar solutions using the Runge-Kutta method of order four and comparing the results obtained with the solutions of a one-component system. Properties of the solutions indicated by numerical simulations are proved and an existence result is established based on comparison arguments for singular ordinary differential equations.

We consider a reaction-diffusion-convection equation on the halfline (0,1) with the zero Dirichlet boundary condition at $x=0$. We find a positive selfsimilar solution $u$ which blows up in a finite time $T$ at $x=0$ while $u(x,T)$ remains bounded for $x>0$.

This article investigates the long-time behaviour of parabolic scalar conservation laws of the type ${\partial }_{t}u+{div}_{y}A(y,u)-{\Delta }_{y}u=0$, where $y\in {ℝ}^N$ and the flux $A$ is periodic in $y$. More specifically, we consider the case when the initial data is an $L^1$ disturbance of a stationary periodic solution. This note summarizes the results obtained in [30]. We exhibit stable finite time blow up regimes for the energy critical co-rotational Wave Map with the ${𝕊}^2$ target in all homotopy classes and for the equivariant critical $SO\left(4\right)$ Yang-Mills problem. We derive sharp asymptotics on the dynamics at blow up time and prove quantization of the energy focused at the singularity.
