On the ratio of gamma and Rayleigh random variables

Saralees Nadarajah (2007)

Applicationes Mathematicae

The gamma and Rayleigh distributions are two of the most applied distributions in engineering. Motivated by engineering issues, the exact distribution of the quotient X/Y is derived when X and Y are independent gamma and Rayleigh random variables. Tabulations of the associated percentage points and a computer program for generating them are also given.

Quality improvement of rule-based gene group descriptions using information about GO terms importance occurring in premises of determined rules

Marek Sikora, Aleksandra Gruca (2010)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

In this paper we present a method for evaluating the importance of GO terms which compose multi-attribute rules. The rules are generated for the purpose of biological interpretation of gene groups. Each multi-attribute rule is a combination of GO terms and, based on relationships among them, one can obtain a functional description of gene groups. We present a method which allows evaluating the influence of a given GO term on the quality of a rule and the quality of a whole set of rules. For each...

Restricted estimation in unbalanced factorial models: an APL programs package.

José M. Prieto, José M. Caridad (1988)

Qüestiió

This paper describes a set of programs that provide researchers with restricted effect estimations in unbalanced factorial models when several weighing systems are imposed upon those models. The main program performing such an analysis is known as REUFM, and is written in APL⊗PLUS for IBM/PC microcomputers. An example is given in order to ilustrate the programs.

Seasonal time-series imputation of gap missing algorithm (STIGMA)

Eduardo Rangel-Heras, Pavel Zuniga, Alma Y. Alanis, Esteban A. Hernandez-Vargas, Oscar D. Sanchez (2023)

Kybernetika

This work presents a new approach for the imputation of missing data in weather time-series from a seasonal pattern; the seasonal time-series imputation of gap missing algorithm (STIGMA). The algorithm takes advantage from a seasonal pattern for the imputation of unknown data by averaging available data. We test the algorithm using data measured every 10 minutes over a period of 365 days during the year 2010; the variables include global irradiance, diffuse irradiance, ultraviolet irradiance, and temperature,...
