A space $X$ is said to have the Rothberger property (or simply $X$ is Rothberger) if for every sequence $\langle {𝒰}_n:n\in \omega \rangle$ of open covers of $X$, there exists $U_n\in {𝒰}_n$ for each $n\in \omega$ such that $X={\bigcup }_{n\in \omega }{U}_n$. For any $n\in \omega$, necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for $C_p{(\Psi \left(𝒜\right),2)}^n$ to have the Rothberger property when $𝒜$ is a Mrówka mad family and, assuming CH (the Continuum Hypothesis), we prove the existence of a maximal almost disjoint family $𝒜$ for which the space $C_p{(\Psi \left(𝒜\right),2)}^n$ is Rothberger for all $n\in \omega$.

Following a suggestion of W.M. Schmidt and L. Summerer, we construct a proper $3$-system $(P_1,P_2,P_3)$ with the property ${\overline{\varphi }}_3=1$. In fact, our method generalizes to provide $n$-systems with ${\overline{\varphi }}_n=1$, for arbitrary $n\ge 3$. We visualize our constructions with graphics. We further present explicit examples of numbers ${\xi }_1,...,{\xi }_{n-1}$ that induce the $n$-systems in question.

Let $D$ be a ${𝒞}^d$ $q$-convex intersection, $d\ge 2$, $0\le q\le n-1$, in a complex manifold $X$ of complex dimension $n$, $n\ge 2$, and let $E$ be a holomorphic vector bundle of rank $N$ over $X$. In this paper, ${𝒞}^k$-estimates, $k=2,3,\cdots ,\infty$, for solutions to the $\overline{\partial }$-equation with small loss of smoothness are obtained for $E$-valued $(0,s)$-forms on $D$ when $n-q\le s\le n$. In addition, we solve the $\overline{\partial }$-equation with a support condition in ${𝒞}^k$-spaces. We consider the equation $$-y^{\text{'}}\left(x\right)+q\left(x\right)y(x-\varphi \left(x\right))=f\left(x\right),x\in ℝ,$$ where $\varphi$ and $q$ ($q\ge 1$) are positive continuous functions for all $x\in ℝ$ and $f\in C\left(ℝ\right)$. By a solution of the equation we mean any function $y$, continuously differentiable everywhere in $ℝ$, which satisfies the equation for all $x\in ℝ$. We show that under certain additional conditions on the functions $\varphi$ and $q$, the above equation has a unique solution $y$, satisfying the inequality $$\parallel y^{\text{'}}{\parallel }_{C\left(ℝ\right)}+{\parallel qy\parallel }_{C\left(ℝ\right)}\le c{\parallel f\parallel }_{C\left(ℝ\right)},$$ where the constant $c\in (0,\infty )$ does not depend on the choice of $f$.

We prove that for a normed linear space $X$, if $f_1:X\to ℝ$ is continuous and semiconvex with modulus $\omega$, $f_2:X\to ℝ$ is continuous and semiconcave with modulus $\omega$ and $f_1\le f_2$, then there exists $f\in C^{1,\omega }\left(X\right)$ such that $f_1\le f\le f_2$. Using this result we prove a generalization of Ilmanen lemma (which deals with the case $\omega \left(t\right)=t$) to the case of an arbitrary nontrivial modulus $\omega$. This generalization (where a $C_{loc}^{1,\omega }$ function is inserted) gives a positive answer to a problem formulated by A. Fathi and M. Zavidovique in 2010.
