Endomorphism rings of maximal rigid objects in cluster tubes

Dagfinn F. Vatne (2011)

Colloquium Mathematicae

We describe the endomorphism rings of maximal rigid objects in the cluster categories of tubes. Moreover, we show that they are gentle and have Gorenstein dimension 1. We analyse their representation theory and prove that they are of finite type. Finally, we study the relationship between the module category and the cluster tube via the Hom-functor.

Endotrivial modules over groups with quaternion or semi-dihedral Sylow 2-subgroup

Jon F. Carlson, Nadia Mazza, Jacques Thévenaz (2013)

Journal of the European Mathematical Society

Let G be a finite group with a Sylow 2-subgroup P which is either quaternion or semi-dihedral. Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic 2. We prove the existence of exotic endotrivial k G -modules, whose restrictions to P are isomorphic to the direct sum of the known exotic endotrivial k P -modules and some projective modules. This provides a description of the group T ( G ) of endotrivial k G -modules.

Euclidean components for a class of self-injective algebras

Sarah Scherotzke (2009)

Colloquium Mathematicae

We determine the length of composition series of projective modules of G-transitive algebras with an Auslander-Reiten component of Euclidean tree class. We thereby correct and generalize a result of Farnsteiner [Math. Nachr. 202 (1999)]. Furthermore we show that modules with certain length of composition series are periodic. We apply these results to G-transitive blocks of the universal enveloping algebras of restricted p-Lie algebras and prove that G-transitive principal blocks only allow components...

Extremal properties for concealed-canonical algebras

Michael Barot, Dirk Kussin, Helmut Lenzing (2013)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Canonical algebras, introduced by C. M. Ringel in 1984, play an important role in the representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras. They also feature in many other mathematical areas like function theory, 3-manifolds, singularity theory, commutative algebra, algebraic geometry and mathematical physics. We show that canonical algebras are characterized by a number of interesting extremal properties (among concealed-canonical algebras, that is, the endomorphism rings of tilting bundles on...
