On a generalization of close-to-convex functions

Swadesh Kumar Sahoo, Navneet Lal Sharma (2015)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

The paper of M. Ismail et al. [Complex Variables Theory Appl. 14 (1990), 77-84] motivates the study of a generalization of close-to-convex functions by means of a q-analog of the difference operator acting on analytic functions in the unit disk 𝔻 = {z ∈ ℂ:|z| < 1}. We use the term q-close-to-convex functions for the q-analog of close-to-convex functions. We obtain conditions on the coefficients of power series of functions analytic in the unit disk which ensure that they generate functions in...

On Bloch functions and gap series.

Daniel Girela (1991)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

Kennedy obtained sharp estimates of the growth of the Nevanlinna characteristic of the derivative of a function f analytic and with bounded characteristic in the unit disc. Actually, Kennedy's results are sharp even for VMOA functions. It is well known that any BMOA function is a Bloch function and any VMOA function belongs to the little Bloch space. In this paper we study the possibility of extending Kennedy's results to certain classes of Bloch functions. Also, we prove some more general results...

On extensions of the Mittag-Leffler theorem

Ewa Ligocka (1998)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

The classical Mittag-Leffler theorem on meromorphic functions is extended to the case of functions and hyperfunctions belonging to the kernels of linear partial differential operators with constant coefficients.

On Fabry's gap theorem

Jan-Christoph Puchta (2002)

Archivum Mathematicum

By combining Turán’s proof of Fabry’s gap theorem with a gap theorem of P. Szüsz we obtain a gap theorem which is more general then both these theorems.

On Kaluza's sign criterion for reciprocal power series

Árpád Baricz, Jetro Vesti, Matti Vuorinen (2011)

Annales UMCS, Mathematica

T. Kaluza has given a criterion for the signs of the power series of a function that is the reciprocal of another power series. In this note the sharpness of this condition is explored and various examples in terms of the Gaussian hypergeometric series are given. A criterion for the monotonicity of the quotient of two power series due to M. Biernacki and J. Krzyż is applied.

On the growth of an algebroid function with radially distributed values

Nan Wu, Jian Hua Zheng (2015)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

We investigate how the growth of an algebroid function could be affected by the distribution of the arguments of its a-points in the complex plane. We give estimates of the growth order of an algebroid function with radially distributed values, which are counterparts of results for meromorphic functions with radially distributed values.
