The goal of this article is to show some examples of topological manifolds: planes and spheres in Euclidean space. In doing it, the article introduces the stereographic projection [25].
Products of open manifolds with ℝ
We present a characterization of those open n-manifolds (n ≥ 5) whose products with the real line are homeomorphic to interiors of compact (n+1)-manifolds with boundary.
