Reinforced walk on graphs and neural networks

Józef Myjak, Ryszard Rudnicki (2008)

Studia Mathematica

A directed-edge-reinforced random walk on graphs is considered. Criteria for the walk to end up in a limit cycle are given. Asymptotic stability of some neural networks is shown.

Reliability modeling of fault tolerant control systems

Hongbin Li, Qing Zhao, Zhenyu Yang (2007)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

This paper proposes a novel approach to reliability evaluation for active Fault Tolerant Control Systems (FTCSs). By introducing a reliability index based on the control performance and hard deadline, a semi-Markov process model is proposed to describe system operation for reliability evaluation. The degraded performance of FTCSs in the presence of imperfect Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) is reflected by semi-Markov states. The semi-Markov kernel, the key parameter of the process, is determined...

Reliability of system with dependent units

Raimi Ajibola Kasumu (1985)

Aplikace matematiky

The availability of a system with dependent units is obtained in the case where the system fails when one of the essential units fails. Markov model is assumed. The system considered consists of n dependent units of which r n units are essential units. A unit is said to be essential if its failure causes the system to fail. The mean and variance of time to system failure are given. Unit reliability is also discussed.

Renewal Processes of Mittag-Leffler and Wright Type

Fractional Calculus and Applied Analysis

2000 MSC: 26A33, 33E12, 33E20, 44A10, 44A35, 60G50, 60J05, 60K05.After sketching the basic principles of renewal theory we discuss the classical Poisson process and offer two other processes, namely the renewal process of Mittag-Leffler type and the renewal process of Wright type, so named by us because special functions of Mittag-Leffler and of Wright type appear in the definition of the relevant waiting times. We compare these three processes with each other, furthermore consider corresponding...
